OPENPTO / PARTNERSHIP
You connect the client. We carry the specialist work.
SIX-JURISDICTION NETWORK
Built around Asia. Connected to your clients’ cross-border needs.
Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and the United States form our six-jurisdiction network. Select a market to see the service focus. The responsible entity, professionals, scope and fees are confirmed before engagement.

Brand and innovation protection
A new client need can extend the service you provide.
You do not need to decide the filing strategy or assess professional feasibility first. Explain the client's business objective, and the relevant professionals can help identify the next step.
Trademarks & Brand Protection
From taking a new brand into a market to maintaining an existing portfolio, we arrange work around the target jurisdictions, goods and services, and business timetable. Before deciding to engage, the client can understand the scope, fee breakdown and information required.
- Clarifying filing needs for new brands and target markets.
- Arranging trademark applications, examination responses and follow-on procedures.
- Coordinating renewals, owner information changes and additional markets.
- Providing a single communication point for multi-jurisdiction matters.
Patents & Designs
Where a client has a new technology, product structure or design, we discuss available application support based on the material and target markets. Technical assessment, translation, filing and later procedures are scoped and priced separately before engagement.
The opportunity often starts in an everyday client conversation.
The client is taking a brand into a new market
A company is being established, a sales channel is expanding or a product launch is being planned. You explain the business background and target markets; we clarify the filing requirements, materials and fees.
Existing trademarks need ongoing attention
Renewals, company name changes, new goods or additional markets can all create trademark work. We help organise these separate needs into a service plan the client can consider.
A new product needs specialist consideration
A client preparing to disclose technology, exhibit a product or explore overseas protection can discuss patent and design needs with us. Acceptance and scope are confirmed after the relevant information is understood.
These are illustrative referral situations, not client case studies or confirmation that every matter can be accepted.
Know who you are speaking with. Know who takes the next step.
A partnership starts with a direct conversation. Tell us about your firm, the clients you serve and the needs you encounter. We can then discuss a suitable working arrangement, scope and communication plan.
For each matter, OpenPTO identifies the relevant responsible entities and professionals. You should not have to explain the same requirements across several entry points or handle every specialist detail on the client's behalf.

Four steps to a well-defined partnership.
| Step | Heading | Copy |
|---|---|---|
| 01 Together | Discuss the arrangement | Explain your firm and client needs. Agree on communication, service boundaries and any applicable partner remuneration. |
| 02 Referral partner | Introduce with permission | Obtain the client's permission and share the necessary business background, target jurisdictions and contact information. |
| 03 OpenPTO and the client | Scope, quote and deliver | We clarify requirements and fees. Work proceeds after the client has expressly agreed to the engagement. |
| 04 Together | Update and reconcile | Share appropriate progress within the client's permission and reconcile eligible fees and partner remuneration as agreed. |
- Respect the client relationship. Contact focuses on the matters agreed in advance; additional services are discussed separately.
- Share only permitted information. A referral does not automatically open the complete client file or internal working materials.
- Clarify before proceeding. Scope, fees, responsible parties and required materials are explained before engagement.
Make the working relationship tangible.
A quotation explains scope and fees. A progress update explains the current task and next step. A remuneration summary explains the calculation. The following are format illustrations, not actual client records.
Itemised quotation
| Example field | Example value |
|---|---|
| Professional fees | USD 1,000 |
| Official fees | USD 300 |
| Illustrative total | USD 1,300 |
| Scope | Defined in the written quotation |

| Example field | Example value |
|---|---|
| Current task | Reviewing application information |
| Next step | Confirming the applicant and goods/services list |

A clear next step helps the partner respond to the client's practical questions.
Partner remuneration summary
| Example field | Example value |
|---|---|
| Eligible professional fees received | USD 1,000 |
| Applicable partner rate | 10% |
| Illustrative partner remuneration | USD 100 |
| Settlement | Confirmed under the agreed partnership terms |
Reconciliation and settlement are separate steps; this does not represent an automatic payment.
10%, with a clear calculation basis.
For eligible arrangements, partner remuneration is calculated at 10% of eligible professional fees actually received and allocated to the matter. Official fees, taxes and disbursements are excluded. Refunds, corrections and settlement are reconciled under the terms agreed in advance.
USD 1,000 eligible professional fees × 10% = USD 100 partner remuneration.
The separate USD 300 official fee is excluded. This is an explanation of the calculation, not an actual transaction or earnings guarantee. Participation and remuneration are subject to written agreement, applicable requirements and arrangements acceptable to your firm.
Before we begin.
Do I need to register for an account?
No. Email us with your firm, client types and partnership interests to start the conversation.
Who quotes the client and provides the service?
With the client's permission, OpenPTO discusses the requirements and quotation and identifies the responsible entities and delivery arrangements. The client decides whether to engage; the partner does not accept a quotation on the client's behalf.
What progress information can I receive?
Information sharing is limited by the client's permission and the agreed working arrangement. We identify suitable updates; a referral does not automatically grant access to the complete client file or internal materials.
Does the 10% include official fees?
No. The basis is eligible professional fees actually received for the applicable matter. Official fees, taxes and disbursements are excluded. Eligibility and settlement follow the agreed terms.
